The Living Desert
Why You Should Visit the Living Desert Zoo and Botanical Garden
Palm Desert has many shops and art galleries that draw the attention of visitors. But perhaps one of the most engaging wonders in Palm Desert is the large expanse of desert wildlife and natural hiking terrain offered at the Living Desert Wild Animal Park and Botanical Garden.
With both native desert animals as well as African desert species such as giraffes, hyenas, and cheetahs, the Living Desert is a great location to see the wild beauty of the desert from a safari-like atmosphere.
Live shows and animal encounters offer visitors year-round opportunities to get up close and personal with animals ranging from servals (pictured) and porcupines to hawks and snakes.
Seasonal Wonders to Encounter
During the holidays, particularly at Halloween and Christmas, the Living Desert breathes new life and excitement to family fun and holiday spirit. During Halloween, the park is adorned with family-friendly decorations and attractions that are for a lack of better words–spook-tacularly fun! The Christmas-time decorations and lights, especially around the miniature train set city add a nice touch to the holiday season. Every family needs to visit the Living Desert during the holidays to experience the creative themes and entertainment.
