El Paseo in Palm DesertSomething for Everyone on El Paseo in Palm Desert

Whether you are looking for fascinating art work or a great place to eat on different budgets, there is something for everyone (and more than just upscale budgets) in the El Paseo Shopping District.

Dining at El Paseo

On top of having great family restaurants likeĀ California Pizza Kitchen, Sushi restaurants such as No Da Te, and Italian cuisine at Ristorante Mamma Gina, El Paseo also offers upscale restaurants such as Augusta, which offers Continental, Mediterranean dishes as well as an artistic ambiance (located at the corner of El Paseo and Portola). If you are in the mood for some delicious but pricey steak, Sullivan’s Steakhouse at the corner of Sage Lane and El Paseo. You can also backtrack to Highway 111, which has both Outback Steakhouse and Black Angus as you enter the neighboring city of Rancho Mirage.

The desert has had a decades-long love affair with the aesthetic beauty that different art can bring to visitors. When driving down 111 heading East toward El Paseo, be sure to take a moment while cruising to enjoy the gorgeous statues and original art works that line the center divide of the street as you pass. There are also modern and fine art galleries throughout the length of the strip.

Hiking and Recreation

Aside from walking the streets of El Paseo to enjoy the sights, be sure to take in a birds-eye view from Highway 74, which continues from where Montery crosses Highway 111. El Paseo is a great place to walk and enjoy a summer breeze or a temperate winter stroll.
