Desert IMAX Movie Theater

The IMAX in Cathedral City is often mistaken for being in Palm Springs, since it borders the city and is off of Highway 111. The area after many years has become a shopping destination, with casual upscale restaurants within a short walking distance, cafes (even a Starbucks), and a gorgeous view of the moutain side.

Located directly across from the Mary Pickford Movie Theater, the Desert IMAX is a luxurious and well-air conditioned escape from the desert heat. In addition to viewing a gigantic screen with scenes ranging from under the ocean to astronauts in outer space, the IMAX offers some of the most recent movies, frequently available in 3D.
