The Palm Springs Art Museum (also know as the Palm Springs Desert Museum) is a great place to enjoy contemporary and classic artworks, ancient civilization artifacts, local Native American history, and other desert and cultural art. In addition to offering permanent collections available for view year-round, the museum has unique exhibitions available at different time frames over the course of the year. The museum also offers live performances at the Annenburg Theater, which is located down the stairs next to the main parking lot of the museum.
Aside from museum tours and exhibits, the Palm Springs Art Museum offers a broad range of programs and services. From museum camps and classes on art, desert biology, and more, to film screenings and open mic poetry, the Palm Springs Art Museum has a lot to offer to visitors. A beautiful sculpture garden is located down the stairs of the museum and is adjacent to the Annenburg Theater.
The museum Sculpture Garden in the evening will be hosting exciting and FREE Music in the Garden events at 6:00pm once each month. The upcoming dates for Music in the Garden during 2009 include February 26th, March 19th, April 23rd, and May 28th. The performances are live and open to the public.
