This Saturday will  mark the 15th Annual Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards in celebration 25 years of service by the Desert AIDS Project. The event will be held in the Palm Springs Convention Center with live entertainment, a silent auction, and will have celebrity presence.

The gala begins with cocktails at 5:00pm on February 21, 2009 and the ceremony begins at 7:00pm. The awards show includes stars such as Barry Manilow who will be accepting humanitarian awards for their service to others. Award recipients include the following:

Honoring:
Barry Manilow – Silver Anniversary Community Service Award
Bebe Neuwirth – Arts and Activism Award
Dr. Anthony Fauci – Science and Medicine Award
Kristin Chenoweth – Arts and Activism Award
Bill Jones – Partners for Life Award
Harriet Goldberg – 100 Women Award
Hosts – Morgan Fairchild, Linda Gray, and Donna Mills

The Palm Springs Convention Center is located at 277 N. Avenida Caballeros in Palm Springs.

The Desert AIDS project is a non-profit medical care and comprehensive support service for people with AIDS/HIV in the desert area, with Southern California locations in Palm Springs, Cathedral City, Desert Hot Springs, and Indio. Their services span every need that can occur as a result of contracting AIDS/HIV, including medications, fast and free testing for the condition, legal and housing assistance, food, re-employment, and more.
